Plastic Tubing
Plastic tubing of various lengths and bores constructed of materials suitable for general laboratory, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, medical, vacuum, low-pressure, high-pressure, cleanroom or environmental applications. Products may be chemical- or corrosion-resistant. Formulated for resistance to flex fatigue and abrasion, plastic tubing is more flexible and less permeable than rubber tubing.
How Is Plastic Tubing Used?
Flexible plastic tubing may be used as transfer lines for contamination fluid control, hydraulics, protective jacketing, vacuum pump and diaphragm pump feeds and discharges, refrigeration, water and fluid lines, food and beverage, instrumentation, research laboratories, agriculture, material handling, air and gas lines, chemical lines and pharmaceuticals.
Types of Plastic Tubing:
• PVC: lightweight and flexible, will retain its bore on bending and can be sterilized up to 121°C
• Silicone: ideal where a hard-wearing material is needed, including transfer of liquids or higher temperature environments
• LDPE: good for general low pressure and temperature, instrumentation, corrosive atmosphere, and food processing
• PTFE: has excellent chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant properties
• PE: flexible, lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant, used for a wide range of liquid, gas, and fluid transfer applications
• FEP: clear, small-diameter tubing, the economical choice for chemical resistance and broad temperature exposure
• PEEK: high-performance polymer with mechanical and chemical resistance, and highly resistant to thermal degradation
Accuflow Systems Altafluor 100 PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) - 100 PTFE 1/8"" X 3/16 "" - 50 FT
Altafluor 100 PTFE was the original TEFLON material developed by E.I.DUPONT CO. PTFE is the most flexiible of all fluoropolymers offered. It has the broadest temperature range of any fluoropolymer and can resist highly corrosive liquids and gases even at elevated temperatures. The smooth surface finish and lowest coefficient of friction and lubricity make it ideal for bushing or bearing applications. Non-flammable. Non-toxic. FDA compliant -21 CFR 177.1550. Very low permeability. Altafluor 100 is compatible with most standard fittings (not suitable for use with flare-type fittings). Applications include use in laboratories, chemical processes, analytical and process equipment, crogenic, electrical, high temp and automotive. Manufactured from 100% virgin grade PTFE resins, it is the most flexible, is chemically inert and resistant to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents.

This tubing is ideal for general laboratory use, analytical instruments, peristaltic pumps, condensers, incubators, desiccators, as well as gas and drain lines. The insulated PVC multitap mechanical split bolt connectors from Grainger are designed for splicing and tapping insulated wires. They feature a tapered split bolt design that tightens around conductors when the nut is tightened. The insulation sleeve helps prevent shorts and corrosion. These connectors are UL listed for copper and aluminum conductors sized 14-6 AWG and are rated up to 600 volts. They come in a variety of tap configurations from 2-way up to 12-way. The PVC insulation provides good chemical and moisture resistance. Overall, these connectors offer a secure and insulated method for splicing multiple wires in industrial and commercial applications.

AVANTOR MASTERFLEX (VWR LLC) Masterflex Transfer Tubing Microbore PTFE, 0.042"" ID x 0.066"" OD; 100 ft/roll
Use this translucent tubing in extreme temperatures and in harsh chemical environments. It's chemically inert, has low permeability, and has the lowest friction coefficient of any tubing. Temperature range is ¿400 to 500¿F (¿240 to 260¿C); melts at 620¿F (327¿C). Tensile strength is 2500 to 4000 psi. PTFE tubing resin is UL-recognized and complies with FDA (21 CFR 177.1550) and USP Class VI requirements.
